H. F. Henry once said that volunteering is at the very core of being a human, because no one has made it through life without someone's help.
Volunteering is usually described as an unpaid activity where a person gives their work and time to help a non-profit organization or individual, but there is much more to it than that.
By volunteering, a person develops and excels as a person, makes countless new relationships, gets to know himself, and develops his social and creative skills. In addition to that, volunteering can provide valuable experience and knowledge that will be useful in one's academic and professional life.
It's a great way to create big changes by doing small steps, and most importantly, it's never too late to start!
There are countless volunteering opportunities: everyone can help by volunteering in various social, youth or political organizations, libraries, animal shelters, school or university events, etc.
Not only that, we can also be altruistic by offering to help a family member or neighbour or by lending a hand to a friend while preparing for an exam. All that remains is to choose what brings joy to our heart and gives each of us value.
